Northern Kentucky Bluegrass Music Association

Fresh Baked is guitarist Doug Hatt and multi-instumentalist Trina Emig.  The duo serves up sweet and savory duets from the early bluegrass and country era from such artists as the Louvin Brothers, Jim & Jesse, the Stanley Brothers, Buck Owens, and George Jones & Melba Montgomery.  Those classics are leavened with original songs and contemporary tunes by artist like Gillian Welch.

Trina is well known to bluegrass fans in the Cincinnati region.  Trina began studying Scruggs-style banjo with Vernon McIntyre in 1988.  By 1990 she was teaching banjo and touring and performing nationally with Vernon McIntyre's Appalachian Grass.  She has also played with Kentucky 31, Missy Werner, Katie Lour, the Cincinnati Radio Band, Sassafras Grass, Steve Bonafel, Marvin Davis, and many others.

Doug grew up in the Detroit area and has been playing and singing bluegrass since 2004 when, after returning from overseas, he joined the booming bluegrass scene in Brooklyn, NY.  Since starting Fresh Baked Bluegrass in 2005, he has enjoyed playing with such bluegrass luminaries as Jen Larson (Straight Drive), Greg Garing, Jason sypher (Rhiannon Giddens), Jeff Picker (Ricky Scaggs and Kentucky Thunder), Wes Corbett (Sam Bush), and Billy Failing (Billy Strings).  In 2018, Doug left New York for Northern Kentucky.  From 2021 - 2023, he was the guitarist and frontman for the Licking Pike Ramblers.  Recently, Fresh Baked Bluegrass has rounded out its sound by adding bass player and vocalist Jim Gaube.
